So much time has passed. . .

January 20, 2018

But I finally have something to say. Even though I should have been blogging books all along. I have just finished my first two weeks at my part time job at my local library.

I am so happy. And if I am careful I may even be able to save up for things.

I felt good enough this morning to actually tackle some of the mess in my apartment.

New year. . . new post

January 26, 2016

Apparently, this is an annual event.   I hadn’t realized how long it has been since I last posted anything.

I am hoping to be more active here.

Particularly about my reading life. . . currently my knitting life is just frustrating me.

If I can find my sock needles – I am going to cast on some plain socks:  that’s about the speed I can handle right now. . . but IF I can find my sock needles.

However, reading is regaining it’s precedence in my life.    The library re-opened on the 18th – I have been there four times since then.   My pile of TBR library books is huge and I still have three requests out there.  So I am looking forward to settling down with many good books.

Yes, yes, yes. I’ve been thinking about how much her fierce character showed through recently as she fought her way through the pain that stifled her physical sense of self and the pain meds that were inhibiting her mental prowess – as impressive as she was before – when she was whole she was at least as impressive in her strength in handling the crap she was dealt.

egb63's Weblog

Long, long  ago there was a show called Buffy The Vampire  Slayer.   I  was looking forward  to  it,  because I  had seen  some gems  in the campy movie  of  the same  name.  The TV  show  was so  much  better  than  the movie.  My  sisters and  I talked about the show. Around  the  same  time, my  DH and I moved to  CA .  He worked long  hours,  and I  went to  the grocery  store  to find  people to  talk to.  I  was  lonely.   Somewhere  along  the line I  found  The  Board.

The Board was  the  place  where all kinds of  different people talked  about Buffy. There were professors, moms, lawyers,  students,  geeks, musicians and artists. We analyzed ,criticized, predicted the next  move for  our  show, and  got  to  know  each  other .  Over 14  years  we  went  from buffy  friends to  invisible  friends to friends. Marriages,  citizenship, children, divorces, bombs…

Found my glasses late last night.

When I told my friend Sandy about the lost glasses conumdrum she asked, “Did you check the bedclothes?”

And even though my first thought was “of course”, I did check them again.

I am happy to report that they weren’t in the bedclothes –actually they were in the space between the head of the bed and the wall. I had checked there before but that area is, unsurprisingly, full of project bags and yarn and I hadn’t checked carefully enough.

Anyway, my eyes are happier now and I can both knit and read.
